STITCH STATION 2

Have a go on a sewing machine with GAILa multi disciplinary artist and expert on sewing machines!

This is a fantastic opportunity if you've always wanted to learn the basics of using a sewing machine but felt too nervous, or never had access to a machine to try.

The machines being used are part of the Lend and Mend project, meaning they are always available  in the Forfar library and you do NOT need to own a sewing machine. You can begin and finish all your sewing projects using these shared machines!

STITCH STATION 3

Learn some simple stitches that can be used to sew and mend all sorts of things as well as create lovely embellishments, with artist and stitcher JENNY BLAIR.

You can practise at this Stitch Station by hand sewing a little wool felt patch with a spring inspired design. This can be used to decorate your favourite bag or cover a holey elbow or knee!

OR you can simply bring along something in need of mending and get shown how to repair it yourself.

The activities are all on a 'DROP IN' basis, so if the Stitch Stations are busy and you have to wait then you can enjoy perusing the Library books!

ALL the materials you need for the crochet and patch projects are provided for free, just bring your selves and your willing hands!

If you want help with a stitch repair or crochet project that you've got stuck on at home then feel free to bring it in and we'll see if we can help get you going again!

**PLEASE NOTE** If you would like to be shown how to use a sewing machine you are required to have an Angus Alive card (It's no problem if you don't have one, just bring along 1 form of ID and you can easily & quickly sign up on the day).
