The recent storms have left a lot of damage and the increasing frequency and intensity of storms highlight the importance of regenerating, restructuring and developing Dronley Wood. We are aiming to make it a site-adapted, diverse, stable and resilient mixed woodland. JOIN US IN OUR VISION.....
Over the next two months, we will set up several demonstration sites at Dronley Wood to show and demonstrate various possibilities of transforming an existing woodland into a mixed wood.
During the 8 PROJECT DAYS, with your help we will carry out :
-
Stand surveys,
-
Site assessments,
-
Soil assessments,
-
Marking thinnings,
-
Temporary deer fencing,
-
Clearing brash to encourage natural regeneration,
-
Direct seeding (end of March)
-
Tree planting.
You will be able to learn all about sustainable, low-impact woodland management.
We can also provide information material for woodland owners and everyone interested in developing woodlands into mixed woodlands.
